Hello everyone,

New to the board, been reading for a while. I have five acres with two creeks and rolling hills. I figure I need around a 25-30 horse tractor to mow, maintain 300' driveway, and landscape. I am looking at buying a tractor and loader either new or used. I have looked at mostly the new economy 30 horse tractors, but have found a 4210 4wd hydro with 420 loader for $14900. Is this a fair price? It has around 460 hours on it. I thought with the Deere resale value this is not a bad price. Any opinion on this tractor vs. B7800 or TC30? Thanks.

For not much more money (all depends on how you interpret much ;-) you can get a 4310. I think the 4310 would be a much better buy for the dollar spent and you can go with the 430 FEL which gives you more landscaping ability. you will love the ehydro. The 790 would be the economy tractor choice. ....

I agree with Chief, the 4310 is a much better choice if mowing is one of your primary jobs. The 4210 has been known to be lacking in the power area when mowing. If you do buy one, stick with the 60" deck. If hydro is not important to you, the 790 or 990 are both good choices. ....

The 4210 isn't underpowered..... it's overweight.

Take a serious look at a 4115. ....
